What I Do

I am the Game Operations and Marketing Coordinator for a minor league hockey team, the Mississippi RiverKings. That is a mouthful lemme tell ya.

Basically what that means is that I am responsible for anything that happens during a game that isn't the actual hockey game. For instance, I coordinate the intermission games that fans participate in on the ice, the music, and the giveaways.

Part of my job is creating and distributing marketing materials like flyers and brochures. I alsoooo update the website, our Facebook, and Twitter.

Phew! That sounds like alot but honestly I love what I do. I have been very lucky to be in the position I am in right out of college and I actually enjoy what I do on a daily basis.

I've been so busy lately because we just got our schedule for next season so I've been trying to figure out and plan all the theme nights we want to have this year. I think this is my favorite part of the job. Essentially I get to be a huge party planner and it is my job to make sure fans that come out have a fun memorable experience, whether the team wins or loses.

Well this is my attempt to introduce myself a little bit since I don't have an "About Me" section... not yet anyways.

  1. That is a very cool job. Sounds like a lot of fun. Is it hard to get ideas for things to do with the fans?
