Wore

Today's blog post is all about how I beat the Memphis heat! You guys, I never knew Summer until I moved to Memphis. The level of humidity is totally crazy and this is from somebody who is very cold natured! The way I survive? Light, flowy dresses. This one is perfect!! It's thin and comfortable and it can be dressed up or down. I like to pair it with my gold Saltwater sandals and a simple accent necklace. Also, this AMAAAZING mural doesn't hurt.

I found this dress over on Zulily which is my favvvvorite place to find good deals. Want some good news?? This dress is still available over there!!

And, you know, since I have to keep it real over here... how about this action shot?

Oh Spring, I am so happy you're here!! I tend to be pretty cold natured so I love this time of year when I can be comfortable outside in sandals and some cute layers. In reality, I have my lovely readers to thank for this outfit. See that top? You guys helped me pick it out in my last Stitch Fix post. So, thanks!!

Also, I just want to warn you. I have a feeling you'll be seeing a whole lot of those gold Salt Water Sandals over the next few months. These are definitely my go-to this year. They're comfortable, cute, and go with just about everything.

I seriously can't get over how beautiful this Angel Oak tree is!! I included it on my list of amazing things to do in Charleston.

"Behind every cute girl on Instagram is a guy like me, and a brick wall" - Instagram Husband

If anyone can relate to this statement, it's my husband. When I saw this "yay coffee" wall, well, of course we had to take pictures there! Today, I'm sharing my super cute capelet and new sunglasses. I don't know how I'd get through winter without either of these items.

When the weather is cold, I tend to wear the same winter coat. Every. Single. Day. This gets really old really fast. This year, I added this amazing capelet to my rotation. It's exactly what I need to get through this winter without getting into too much of a fashion rut. It's super warm, stylish, and even has a hood!

Now let's talk about the sunglasses. In summer, I always always always wear sunglasses. Since there are fewer sunny days during the winter, I tend to pretty much never wear sunglasses from about October through April. This seems so silly! It's important to protect your eyes no matter what time of year it is. These new Firmoo sunglasses have me excited again and remembering to grab them every time I leave the house on a sunny winter day.

I am all about a comfy chunky sweater. This particular sweater was perfect for our Downtown Coffee Marathon!

Let's make a deal. Let's not ever let layers or scarves or chunky sweaters go out of style... please? One of my favorite things about the cooler months is layering. I love that a cute dress can be worn a ton of different ways when paired with different sweaters and scarves.

Also, I feel like since I posted all my crazy outtakes yesterday, I have to include this picture.... No. This was not staged.

Fashion Blog Post Fails -- Part II

About a year ago I wrote this post sharing all the not so pretty moments that happen when taking "wore" pictures for this here blog. While my photographer is awesome (thanks, husband!), sometimes my poses aren't so pretty, the scenery gets in the way, orrrr I just get awkward when other people happen to stumble upon our little photo shoots.

Well, it's been another year of "wore"posts and another year of not so great pictures. Here are some fashion post fails I had this year:

Yeah, I really have no idea what this last one is...

It was a great year of fashion posts and these fails are pretty epic.

Here's the post from last year: Fashion Blog Post Fails -- Part I

I'll be honest, I dragged my feet for a while on this whole hat trend. I'm still not entirely sure I can pull it off, but the other day, I decided to give it a whirl andddd I think I'm coming around. It's the perfect transitional accessory!! Ok, hat, I'm giving you another chance.

You know the drill, since I like to keep it real.... not all pictures are good ones. Sometimes I get a little too close to the scenery and silly pictures are a result. Yep. I walked into a very low branch and I'm pretty sure the stranger walking by saw the whole thing.

Wore // My New 'Do

Notice anything different? That's right, I now have bangs!!!! I've been taking about this for a while and finally decided to give it a try. It's been a few days and so far, so good. I figured this is the perfect 'do for autumn and even though it still very much feels like summer, this is a new season for me for sure.

So, all you ladies out there with bangs, any tips for me??

And, you know, to keep it real.... not all pictures are good ones. Jeremy really captures me at my best haha.

The easiest way to step up an outfit? Adding an amazing necklace!! When I got this one in the mail, I was blowwnnnnn away. It is gorgeous!!! It was sent to me by Happiness Boutique and oh my, their stuff is ahhhmazing.

Anyways, I'm wearing my white jeans as much as I can these days because once it's Labor Day, they get put in the back of my closet until next year. Right? That's still a thing? No white after Labor Day? I'm trying not to wish away Summer but I will say I am looking forward to chunky sweaters and scarves.... my favorite!

Wore // Signing the Wall

Remember my big news about Elvis Week? Well, we're a few days in and so far I am having the time of my life! I've been writing daily for the Graceland Blog and overall, the experience has been the very best. Be sure to go over there and read my posts! I've learned a ton and have truly made some incredible memories in the process.

A few days back, we were at Graceland and I thought it was time to add my signature the wall. This is a fun tradition that Elvis fans have been doing since Elvis lived there! Over the years, millions of fans have added their names and messages to the wall. It's pretty incredible to see, actually, and I'm honored that my name is nestled right there among other Elvis fans.

Wore // Pineapples

Summer is officially here. In Memphis, that means you risk melting when you're outside and there's a chance you could get frost bite indoors.

The perfect outfit to survive Summer in Memphis is a pair of shorts, a fun summery top.... and a cardigan. I don't like being cold.

I'm telling you now. This Modcloth tank will be worn alotttttt this summer. (PS. It's on sale!!)

And because I like to keep it real around here.....

... not sure what I was laughing at.

Wore // Home T

When you find something good... why change? This would be the reason I make an excuse to ride my bike everywhere, I have a very Memphis-heavy blog (I just love this city), and the reason I have three Home T's.

I've been trying to make the most of this Spring weather before the Summer heat rolls in so I've riding my bike to work most days. Sometimes it's challenging (hello, potholes) but overall I am loving it! I mean, how cute is my bike???

Ever since I put on my first Home T, I knew I had found something good. Well, they keep making different designs and, in my opinion, you can't have too many comfy tees. I already have the t-shirt and the tank so, of course, I would add the baseball t to my collection. Something that makes these shirts even more special is that a portion of the profits goes to multiple sclerosis research.

PS. For all you Disney fans out there, this one is absolutely amazing.

This shirt was sent to me courtesy of The Home T however all opinions are entirely my own.
