Let's talk about something random for a minute.. fried pickles. I had no idea these delicious chips existed until I moved to Memphis. In fact, I even remember the first time I heard about them! Jeremy mentioned them and I actually thought he was making them up.
I had my first taste of this goodness at a Huey's and since then my life has never been the same. Ok, maybe that's a little dramatic, but seriously, they are soo soo soo good. I instantly fell in love. We've actually made our own fried pickles, which reminds me, we have to do that again soon.
I've learned about a lot of new things when I abruptly moved to the South. Fried pickles are definitely one of the true joys that I am happy to now have the pleasure of knowing.
So, now I want to hear from you!
Do you prefer chips or spears?

I'm big fan of pickle chips. Up here in NY and Nj we don't see a lot of fried pickles except for county fairs but I have had them at Cheeseburger in Paradise and they were pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteKensei introduced me to fried pickles when I first visited him in Memphis, I LOVE them! I only get them at restaurants when I am actually in Memphis because in SC they aren't as good. I usually make my own either frying them when I make onion rings or I just found a recipe on pintrest for baking them that I'm going to try next time!
ReplyDeleteWell you know I had to comment on this post (wink). I make them in beer batter. Yum Tum! and my fav's are from a local place called Old Neighborhood Bar & Grill. I prefer chips, with girls friends setting around a table, gossip and a cool refreshing beverage.
ReplyDeleteBrandon loves fried pickles and he kinda turned me onto them as well. But too many give me a belly ache.
ReplyDeleteI was salivating while reading about fried pickles.....have to try them one day!
