My First Furniture Project - Part I

If you follow me on twitter you might have seen that I bought a piece of furniture off Craigslist. I have never done this before and it was completely an impulse, but I just absolutely fell in love with this charming piece of furniture. Well, it's turning out to be alot more work and taking a lot more time than I thought.

The lady I bought it from had gotten it at an antique store. She sanded it real good and painted it white. The paint was chipping a little so I knew I wanted to repaint it. Right now, I'm thinking a light mint green (I'm kind of obsessed), but who knows, it's still a long way from being painted.

So, right now I have a giant cabinet smack dab in the middle of the living room and we're slowly stripping the old paint off of it. Step one. I've been told this is the hardest part. Oh, how I hope they're right.

Yeah, it's a long way from being done but at least we're having fun doing it!

  1. It will be gorgeous!! And yes, the sanding is absolutely the worst part.

I'm all for the mint green. It is my current obsession, as well!

  4. That looks so fun!! I've always wanted to get some old furniture and re-do it but I'm not sure how well that would work out in an apartment, haha :(
