Memphis in May is arguably one of the biggest things that happens in Memphis. There's Music Fest and Barbecue Fest among other fun activities. Today, the line-up was released for this year's Beal St. Music Festival which takes place at Tom Lee Park, right on the river. This picture is from my very first time attending, pre-blog! This year, we may even have visitors!!
(Catherine, you MUST come visit!!!)

I'm particularly excited about Gavin Degraw... he's always been my favorite and I've never seen him live!! A man and a piano?? Oh boy.
Did any of your favorite musicians make the list??
Hmm...little disappointed by this list. But, it really doesn't matter because I will have a month old baby anyways! haha
ReplyDeleteHowever, I do love Gavin! I saw him at Music Fest when I was in high school and he was good! But, he was REALLY drunk, so that was kinda awkward...haha
There's some great people on there! Ryan Bingham is amazing live, I didn't realize the Smashing Pumpkins and The Wallflowers still toured. I think ZZ Top would be on the top of my list!
ReplyDeleteThis an amazing line up!!! Love Dwight Yoakam, Gavin DeGraw (of course!), and 3 Days Grace!
ReplyDeleteI've heard the BBQ Fest portion of the festivities is soooo much fun! My friends always have a huge team "The Chi Town Cookers," I believe is what they call themselves. Out of all these years, I have had a previous engagement and never been able to make it. ONE DAY I will be there!
ReplyDeleteI have not been to BSMF since 1999. Ridiculous, I know.
ReplyDeleteThe line-up doesn't seem all that great this year..
the Black Crowes! this year they have Jackie Greene along side them - if you haven't checked him out , you should!
ReplyDeleteHopefully this will be my first year to go! I love Gavin . So excited about him!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I've lived here almost five years and never actually been to Memphis in May?? One of these days I'm going to make it downtown for this, haha!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great lineup with a wide range of artists! I'd love to see Dwight Yoakum again. I first saw him at Stubb's here in Austin years ago. Speaking of music festivals I can't wait to see the lineup for ACL Fest this year!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous that you're going!!

I love the lineup!!! People complain every year no matter what! I saw AND MET Gavin like two years ago at minglewood!! Got the pic to prove it. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the first line-up in many years that I actually care about. I haven't been in a long time because I have a serious problem in crowds. But I really want to see The Black Keys! And Smashing Pumpkins.. Alice in Chains.. Big Boi.. Sheryl Crow.. Deftones.. Ok, the list goes on. Ha!
ReplyDelete*serious problem WITH crowds
ReplyDeleteNew reader here! Love your blog- makes me miss my days of living downtown!
ReplyDeleteMy husband Shane and I haven't been in about 6 or 7 years but we've decided we're going this year. Awesome line up. Alice in Chains, The Black Keys. So pumped!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see The Black Crows (again!), the Wallflowers, and Sheryl Crow!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Music Fest since I was in college. Like Misty said, the crowds just got to be too much. Plus, ticket prices have doubled the past few years. Last time I went, I only paid $45 for a 3 day pass.
ReplyDeleteThis year? I wanna go. I'm iffy about Saturday, but the other days look AWESOME.
