A Girl Can Dream

Ten Feet Off Beale - Imagine the Possibilities

There's a little empty storefront that I pass by almost everyday on my afternoon walks. It's located right in the heart of downtown Memphis on one of the most (in my opinion) beautiful streets in the city. There are no cars, just a trolley, there are lamp posts with hanging flower baskets.

If I had a million dollars and a whole lot of luck, I would buy this little empty unloved storefront and put in a coffee and pie shop. We would be open early for the people who work downtown to get their morning cup of coffee. We would be open late for late night slices of pie after a night on the town. We would have a million different flavors of pie (I mean, this issss a fantasy) and nobody would ever be able to pick a favorite because they were all too yummy. All of our coffee mugs would be vintage and no two would look alike. People would fall in love here, old friends would catch up here, children would hold fond memories of this place for the rest of their lives.

You wouldn't be able to come to Memphis without taking a walk down Main Street just to have a slice of homemade pie.

Hey, a girl can dream, right?

  3. I do the same thing when I see empty buildings / store fronts in beautiful locations. "If only". Hopefully someday we can all put these dreams into action! It would be a pretty awesome shop! Yum!

  9. Sounds perfect! I've always loved the idea of breakfast/lunch restaurant. Something small but super delicious. Working early and closing by 3. That would be ideal!
