Welcome to the Sunshine State

Ten Feet Off Beale - Welcome to the Sunshine State

I'm here. I'm in Florida where I will be for the next four weeks. I think my time will be filled with lots of work (I mean, that's why I'm here, right?) but also lots of other fun activities.

Some things I've learned about Florida (so far):

- The United States city with the highest rate of lightning strikes per capita is Clearwater (where our hotel is)

- Florida means "Feat of Flower" in Spanish

- Miami installed the first bank automated teller machine (ATM) especially for rollerbladers.

- There are a million little lizards running around - hah this one I learned from experience! Mom, you would it.
Thanks to my new coworkers who made me an entire binder of fun stuff to do and restaurants to eat at and also a big thanks to Melissa Jo who blogs at Home Sweet Auburn for giving me so much to do during my time here! While I'm sad about being so far away from the boy, I think it's going to be a good trip.

Oh, and for those who want to see.. here's what my room looks like - there's even a full kitchen with dishwasher, over, and stove.

  5. Thanks for the shout out love! Have a wonderful trip, enjoy it! Oh since your hotel is in Clearwater, check out Frenchy's Rockaway (There are several locations but Rockaway is the one on the beach) they have great drinks, music and wonderful food! Now I'm craving their she crab soup and thinking I need to go visit my parents soon to get some haha
