Bookworm

Ten Feet Off Beale Bookworm

I don't know if it's because it offically feels like summer (even though I don't get a summer vacation) or because I've just happened to be stumbling upon books I can't put down, but I have been such a bookworm lately! When I turned 24 I gave myself the goal of reading 24 books before I turn 25 (see the whole list here) well, I am well on my way, just about halfway through! These are the books I've been reading lately:

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green: I loved this. I laughed and I cried. It was truly a phenomenal book.

The Light Between Oceans - M.L Stedman: I'll be honest, this one was just okay. While I thought the story line was really interesting, it took me a really long time to get into it. It was only like the last one hundred pages that really had me wanting to see what happened next.

Blackberry Winter - Sarah Jio: This story takes place in modern day andddd the 1930s... to me, that was what made this book really good. I loved how the same story wove it's way through two completely different eras.

Inferno - Dan Brown: I LOVE Robert Langdon!!! I was so so happy when I saw Dan Brown wrote another book with this character. While reading, when art work or places were mentioned, I'd google them. I thought that really added something to the story. I couldn't put this one down.

The Storyteller - Jodi Picoult:  Leave it to Jodi Picoult to add plot twists throughout this story. I never saw what was coming. I read this one in record time.

Have you read any good books lately??

  6. Haven't read any of these, THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY BOOK AND NOT ENOUGH TIME!
I recently read The Hangman's Daughter by Oliver Potzsch and Cloud Atlas Nine by David Mitchell. Loved them both a lot, especially Cloud Atlas. I'm about t finish World War Z by Max Brooks too, I'm liking it way more than I thought I would. It's really well written and a cool concept. It's a collection of a bunch of "accounts" of different people all over the world of the "Zombie war." It's really interesting because it's more political than just scary zombie, which is really neat. It talks about how each country reacted to the outbreak, and how they tried to quarantine etc.

  7. I loved The Fault in Our Stars. Amazing. and Jodi Piccoult rarely disappoints. I haven't read anything by Dan Brown, but I am always tempted because I know people really like him.

  11. I am in the last 50 or so pages of Inferno and seriously cannot put it down. It's been like that since I started. And as for Jodi Piccoult, I love her books! The only one of hers that I have read that I did not love was The Pact. She is one of my favorite go-to authers when I cannot think of what to read next (besides Harry Potter of course haha).

Thanks for the list and I added them to my to-read list on Goodreads.

P.S. tried to friend you on there but it said your profile didn't exist?

    Cheers,

  12. Okay! I have been debating with myself about The Fault in Our Stars and The Storyteller. I'm a long time Jodi Piccoult fan so I may have to start with that one. I am in need of a great book for the plane.

  14. My boyfriend read The Fault in Our Stars and adored it, but for some reason I haven't picked it up yet! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it as well.
I had no idea that Dan Brown came out with another book - I also love Robert Langdon! Totally has a spot in my heart. I love Dan Brown's books primarily because I studied History of Art and I love reading about pieces I know and that I've studied. I don't know. I think I like it because it makes me feel smart.
