Stitch Fix-ation

 
At one point or another, everyone dreams of having their own personal stylist. Well, now everyone can have one! It's been floating around blog world for a while, but Stitch Fix is my new fixation.

I decided to take the plunge when I realized most things in closet are items of clothing that I've had for years (and years). I wanted an updated wardrobe but I didn't have time to go browsing shopping malls. Stitch Fix seems to be the solution.
   

    

All it takes is three easy steps:

1) Sign up for Stitch Fix by filling out their special style profile.
After providing your basic information, they'll ask you some style questions. This is so your personal stylist can get a good idea of what you like, what you have, and what you need in your closet.

2) Receive a box of hand picked items.
The day my Stitch Fix arrives is like Christmas! I rip open the wrapping and I am never disappointing. In each box you'll find five items that are specifically picked for you based on your style profile and any other notes you might have included. They also include style tips (pictured below) for each item so you know exactly how versatile each item can be.

3) Try everything on. Keep what you want and send everything else back!
This is the fun part. Instead of trying everything on in cramped dressing rooms, you get to try everything on in the comfort of your own home. I especially like that this gives you the opportunity to pair items you already have with your Stitch Fix items to see how things will go together.

  

    
Ok, I'm sure you're all thinking this is all too good to be true and I'll bet your wondering how much this costs. Allow me to explain. There's a $20 styling fee that you pay when your box is sent to you. The good thing is, that $20 goes towards your Stitch Fix purchases. So let's say you want a shirt that's marked $30. You only have $10 left to pay! You only pay for the items you keep and you send the rest of the items back at no charge. They even send you a bag to send everything back in ready to be put in the mailbox. 

When filling out your styling profile, you're given the option of choosing your price range. I chose the cheapest price range (what can I say, I'm cheap!) and I will say some things that are sent to me are too expensive. For instance, if I get a plain shirt and it's marked really high, I send it back.

I also want to say that the few things I have kept I have worn a bunch! I feel like I've really been getting my money's worth. For instance, the dress I wore in my engagement photos was from a "Fix" and so was this shirt!

I think it's pretty safe to say that shopping will never be the same again! It feels pretty glamorous to have my own personal stylist.
