3. Have a carefree stress-free time in New Jersey
I know that we're going to have a ton of fun visiting my family but there is definite potential that I'll be too worried about making sure Jeremy is having a good time that I'll get all stressed out. I need to just relax and go with the flow.

In other news.. I GOT MY DRIP PANS.. such a silly thing to get excited about but it's such a relief to finally have a working stove.

Drip Pans

So when I moved into my new apartment I realized the people before me decided to steal my drip pans! I've been calling and calling the office but they can't seem to find me some new ones.. they keep telling me "by tomorrow".  Anyways, let me tell ya, I never realized how much I actually use my stove. I keep getting up to make something and then realize, as I'm reaching for the pots, that my stove is unusable. Ugh. it has been a week and a half and no drip pans. I'm so tired of eating gross food. So tonight I got creative! I made a quiche! Only some frozen spinach, cheddar cheese, eggs, milk, and a pie crust later and I have a healthy home cooked meal sans stove. Woo!

Hello Harrison

Jeremy brought Harrison over last night! Isn't he cute?  

I have a new goal.. get a picture of Harrison and Mittens (aka Dexter) together! Every time they were doing something cute I was too slow in grab my camera. erg.

Jeremy also finished hanging my curtains! My apartment now feels so homey. He got creative with his hanging technique.

So happy it's Friday.. I've definitely been looking forward to the weekend.

Wednesday Wishes

1. Keep up with my blog.
I am an extremely new blogger and I would like to really keep up with my blog and get better at posting things. I figure the more I post, the more I learn, and the better I'll become!

 


2. Be on time.
No matter what time I leave my apartment in the morning, somehow I always end up in work a few minutes late... I really need to work on that.






3. Get settled.
I am almost completely all moved into my new apartment there are some boxes still left to unpack though. I realllllly want to finish up!

Movin' On Up

This past weekend.. I MOVED.. to Olive Branch, Mississippi. I felt like my old apartment was in the middle of nowhere.. probably because it was, but now I am in civilization and so far it is so good!

 I am completely exhausted after moving all my stuff by myself... ha! just kidding... I had some completely amazing helpers.. Josh and Jeremy really stepped up and helped me so much when I needed them.

It took three days and a bunch of car loads but eventually all my stuff ended up in my new apartment!

I still have alot of putting away to do but eventually I'll put up pictures of my fancy new apartment that I reallllllly like a whole lot! 

Oh! Among all the moving we ended up taking this picture.. I'm pretty sure it's the best picture ever!

Franklin, TN

I love being able to escape for the weekend and get away from Memphis for a while. Luckily Jeremy and I are able to visit some friends who live right outside Nashville. It's only a 3 hour drive so we're able to leave after work on Friday and get back on Sunday and still feel like we didn't spend the entire weekend traveling. This was only my second time visiting Franklin, TN and it was a particularly fun trip! I got to meet Maria for the first time, drive around in a jeep with no doors for the first time, and do a wine tasting for the first time among other things.

I know I look like a bum... we were at the pool all morning...

We got a little lost but eventually we found George Jones' House! Now I'm gonna be honest, I don't really know anything about George Jones but it was still really exciting to see....

Now, in the South there are cowboy stores. A one stop shop to get all your cowboy needs.. pearl snap shirts, hats, belt buckles, boots.. you name it. Walking into one of these places is definitely a jaw dropping moment for me. It seems like more of a costume store than an actual clothing store. It's really fun walking around the store trying on all the different hats and boots. We spent a good chunk of time doing this....

It was a great weekend getaway... can't wait to head back up there!

Blogging in Memphis

In the 10 months I have lived in Memphis I have had so many new and exciting experiences, I have met some great people, and I have learned a lot about myself being so far from home and everything I have ever known. I consider myself very lucky to have had such an amazing experience moving to a completely new place and knowing absolutely no one. There have definitely been some jaw dropping moments and many laughs adjusting to life in the South. I wish I started documenting this when I first moved down here! Oh well, I guess I'll just start here and see where life takes me and possibly reminisce along the way.
