Be The Match

Over a year ago, I wrote this post. I talked about how my Dad is sick. I talked about how he might need a bone marrow transplant. I talked about how I would do anything to give him mine.

I talked about how even though I was an organ donor on my driver's license, that doesn't put me in the bone marrow registry.

I became a bone marrow donor by joining Be the Match

Even though I prayed and prayed that this day would never come, it looks like my Dad might need that bone marrow transplant after all. At this point, we can just hope that his match is in this registry.

This is where you come in. Being added to the bone marrow registry is so simple! All you have to do is go to the website, fill out some information, send in a cheek swab, and that's it! You're in the registry. You could save someone's life.

You never know, one of you could be the match that we are looking for.

Update: My Dad doesn't need a transplant just yet (thankfully)! However, he is undergoing other treatment for the time being. Read about that here.

  2. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I feel like we're too young to have sick parents. I joined a bone marrow registry a couple years ago, but I'm not sure if it's the same one. I'm definitely going to look it up and sign up if I haven't already.
