Love is Sweet: A Beautiful Bridal Shower

What do you get when the sweetest Pittsburgher falls in love with a Canadian boy? A countdown to what is sure to be an amazing wedding. Part of that countdown includes a bridal shower that was full of love, laughter, and maple syrup.

One of my very best friends, Mary, is getting married in August!! I'm thrilled that I was able to make the trip to her hometown of Pittsburgh to shower her with love before her big day with all the important ladies in her life.

Looking forward to standing beside you on your big day, Mary. I love you!!

A Big Fish and A Small Town

What do you do when your best friend is in a musical in Missouri? You grab your husband, hop in the car, drive the five hours, and go see her!

Let me explain. One of my very best friends, Mary, is an amazing actress. She has spent the last year in Jonah (the musical) in Branson, Missouri. Branson is only a few hours from Memphis, so we knew we had to get there to see her.

Spending time with Mary is always fun, no matter where we are. This time, though, we got to see where she has spent the last year, explore Branson, and see a great show. We also got to meet her beau (Bonjour, Tim!!!) anddddd shoot zombies. Yep. We went to this fun place that's a mix between an amusement park ride and a video game. Want to guess who was the number one shooter? (it was me!)

Ok, I have to talk about Jonah for a second. Sight and Sound is a Christian theater company that creates incredible musicals based on the stories of the Bible. Even if my best friend wasn't in the show, I would have thoroughly enjoyed it. The sets were amazing, the giant fish was so believable, and the music was so so so good. Jonah will be running for at least another year so if you have the opportunity to go to Branson (or their other theater in Pennsylvania), deffffffinitely make some time to see it! You won't be disappointed.

PS. This wasn't the first time we traveled to see Mary perform! Last time, we went to Paducah, Kentucky.

Bears Spotted in Paducah, Kentucky

Ten Feet Off Beale in Paducah, Kentucky

If you remember from last week, we recently got back from #SpringRoadtrip2013. One of the stops on our trip was good 'ole Paducah, Kentucky! This was my very first time in Kentucky and I definitely had a great time.

Ok, now let me explain the title of this post. When I say bears, I mean The Berenstain Bears, and when I say Berenstain Bears, what I mean is that my best friend Mary is an actress and is currently touring the country (and Canada) in The Berenstain Bears Live!

I am so so so incredibly happy that we got some quality time to hang out and that I got to see her in her show (and the rest of the cast -- hi everyone!!)

Paducah is the cutest little town with a ton of great antique shops, restaurants, and some of the friendliest people I have ever met!!

This girl. So happy I got to see her!!!! And I'm so happy the sweet little old lady in the antique shop wanted to take our picture and wanted us to yell "Paducah" while she was taking it.

This is the theater where we got to see the show. It was gorgeous!!!

Overall, a very successful roadtrip and best friend reunitement (I don't even think that's a real word).

Friendship

Mary and Me
This is Mary. She is one of my best friends in the whole world.

I first met Mary when we were auditioning for the same acapella group in college (did you know I was in an acapella group? hah). I remember thinking she was soooooo talented and sooo pretty!
Well, as fate would have it, we ended up both making the group and quickly became friends.

Me and Mary American Idol Audition

Over the years we have had so many adventures and made so many memories. I pulled my only all-night in college with her doing a project, we've spent hours watching random youtube videos and even auditioned for American Idol together.

Even though we haven't seen each other in over a year (has it really been that long?), whenever we talk it's as if we have never been apart. That's how I know her friendship is true and genuine. Plus, I know that no matter what, she's there for me and has got my back just like I've got hers.

Me and Mary

She was supposed to come visit me this weekend but unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances, she needs to go be with her family.I know that her and her family could all use some prayers right now and I'd appreciate you all keeping her in your thoughts.

Me and Mary Graduation

She's the best friend anyone could have and I'm lucky to know her.

Mary - I'm sorry you can't come visit this weekend!
I was really looking forward to seeing you but I know how much you need to be home right now.
We'll get you down here before you know it, and I'm telling you, you won't want to leave :)
I feel like I tell you this all the time, but I really am so happy that I can call you my friend.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the memories we have made and
know there are many many more to be made in our future. Love you!
